How It Works (It's Easy)
About Us
At Kieran Lawler Firelogs, we've been keeping Dublin warm for more than 30 years and supply the greater Dublin area with quality dried wood at competitive rates.
Our wood is the most environmentally friendly way to heat your home and minimises the amount of harmful emissions that cause air pollution. Kiln dried firewood is the future of sustainable home heating.

What Our Customers Say

Kiln Dried Firelogs
Our kiln dried logs are sourced from carefully managed forests and provide a sustainable heat source for Dublin homes. Due to the drying process, our logs have a guaranteed moisture content of below 20%. This means that less of energy is wasted whilst being burnt, providing more heat, a brighter flame and less smoke. Our firewood is also suitable for open fires.
Over the course of a winter, burning fire wood with a low moisture content can save you up to 20% on your solid fuel bill, meaning you are not only saving the environment, but also saving money.
The drier the firewood, the less dirty creosote you will have to clean from the window of your wood burning stove and chimney, leaving you with a cleaner home.
Our firelogs are also safe to store indoors for those with respiratory problems. The kiln drying removes fungus, mould and bugs that might be an issue.

Whats so special about kiln dried firewood?
Kiln dried logs have been specially treated to reduce their moisture content to below 20%. This provides you with a much cleaner burn, more heat and is suitable for all stoves.
How much do kiln dried logs weigh?
We, like most other fuel providers don't sell wood by weight. The reason is that poorly seasoned wood contains more water and is therefore heavier. Wood dried in a kiln can burn twice as hot and will last much longer and represents far better value for money.
How can I tell the moisture content of the wood?
There are a variety of ways you can judge the moisture levels in wood.
- The first and perhaps most obvious way is by touch. Really wet wood will feel damp to the touch.
- Check for cracks. Dried wood will often crack during the drying process leaving nice long breaks.
- Try it. Dry wood will give you a very clean burn with long flames and very little soot. You won't see a black build up on glass.
- A moisture meter. We use a moisture meter to test our wood, although as it's a rare tool, few homes are likely to have one.
What size logs do you sell?

When can you deliver?
How long is a piece of string? If you order ahead in the summer, we can probably get to you the next day. But the colder it gets the busier we get. We aim to deliver in between 2 - 5 days but it's always best to be early.
How much wood should I buy to last me a winter?
Different homes have different heating needs and there is no one size fits all. You should consider how much space you have for storage and how accessible your property is. Also remember that winter can be unforgiving.
But to give you a rough estimate, 3 cubic meters of kiln dried wood will get most homes through cold months.
What is the difference between hardwood and softwood?
Hardwood such as oak and ash are dense and take a long time to grow to maturity. They burn slower and produce more heat but are more expensive to buy.
Softwood like fir and pine are less dense and therefore are easier to cure and dry. They are generally cheaper and whilst they don't burn as hot as hardwood, they to produce a good flame.
Is wood burning carbon neutral?
No it's not, but it's pretty close to it. Our wood comes from managed forests and the wood that fuels the kilns drying process, is natural forest debris.
Most of the wood that goes into the kiln comes from forest thinning and is needed to ensure that larger trees, receive sufficient light to grow and thrive. This system is used throughout the forest and helps preserve the balance and maintain the natural ecosystem.
Do you deliver to my area?
